We decided to stop 4 km short of Sarria tonight partly because we were tired, but also because staying slightly out of synch with the stages in the ubiquitous Brierley guide book seems to mean quieter Albergues and walks. Particularly likely to be the case after tomorrow. Sarria is the last stage at which pilgrims can join the Camino and still walk the 100 km necessary to get the Compostela certificate of completion, so it’s likely to be busy from here on in. Our choice is a good one anyway – a small, friendly Albergue with several people we’ve met previously, a tame house bantam and a delicious vegetarian dinner. Rosie feels right at home shooing a hen out of her bedroom!
